DSL Service - A Beginners Guide for DSL Shoppers

Most DSL service is sold by your phone company or Internet Service Provider as part of an Internet access package deal.  Your Internet service provider will be your interface to getting a DSL connection to the Internet.

The United States has thousands of ISPs, and nearly all of them these days offer a DSL service package of some sort . As a result, the packaging and pricing of DSL service is all over the map.

Be Careful: TCP/IP networking combined with DSL service issues can be very complex, and most ISPs could do a much better job of creating user-friendly packaging of DSL-based Internet services. ISP Websites tend to lack helpful information that is necessary to define your needs. In many cases, you will need to call the ISP for basic service information. And even when you call, you may get a salesperson ill-prepared to answer your questions.
